Google's PageSpeed Insights tool can now measure site performance and optimisation in real time.
With the previous iteration marking a website based on its adherence to Google defined best practices for desktop and mobile optimization, the updated version offers advertisers and agencies a glimpse of page speed in the now.
"Pagespeed insight matters in an age that's mobile-first," says Athena Bughao, regional account director for APJ at Essence, "where brands and advertisers are vying for user attention like it's currency - every second count."
Pulling data from Chrome User Experience Report, the updated PageSpeed Insights tool will now offer better recommendations based on real-time site health.
The updated report on PageSpeed Insights now includes scores on speed, optimization, page load distributions, and page stats. It also offers the user optimization suggestions, a feature borrowed from its previous version.
"Your website is your 24/7 digital office," Bughao adds. "The loading time can translate or imply how fast or slow your service could be to a user. More so if you're competing for online sales."
Here's an example of what the updated dashboard looks like.
