Ex-Malaysia Airlines marketing head joins AirAsia

KUALA LUMPUR - Al-Ishal Ishak, ex-senior VP of marketing and promotions at Malaysia Airlines, has joined AirAsia as group head of brand and ancillary income.

Ishak will be based in Kuala Lumpur but travel extensively to cover the ASEAN region.

He joined Malaysia Airlines in January this year and was involved in the A380 'Big flight' campaign. He was previously CEO of Enabling Asia and also worked at Bakara Telecom and McCann Worldgroup.



Ishak's portfolio at Malaysia Airlines is being taken over by Dean Dacko.

Dacko was previously vice-president of travel solutions at Aimia's Loyalty Marketing Services in Canada for eight years. Previous roles also include director of marketing at Air Canada Vacations for five years and consultant to The Mindshare Group for a year.

Dacko has been senior vice-president of marketing at MAS since September.
