A replacement for Gilpin-Jacobs has not been named, according to a spokesperson for the FT Group.
In an email announcing her departure, Gilpin-Jacobs credited FT with creating a position on the board for communications in recognition of its role in global development. "I'm happy leaving, knowing that a solid strategy and programme is in place," she said.
Gilpin-Jacobs indicated in her email that she plans to take a short break while deciding between "a number of interesting options".
