DraftFCB Hong Kong boosts creative team with two senior hires

HONG KONG - DraftFCB Hong Kong has beefed up its creative team with the hire of Timothy Chan and Ming Chan as group creative directors. They will come on board in early March.

The creative duo's appointments follow the agency's new business wins for Wing Tai Property, Chow Tai Fook jewellery, Carlsberg Chill Beer and Jolly Shandy.

The pair will directly report to Iris Lo, managing director and executive creative director of DraftFCB Hong Kong, and will work on major accounts including Sands Casino, Dah Shing Bank, HKTDC, KMB and Carlsberg Chill beer as well as global accounts like Kraft and Oreo.

Ming Chan (art director) and Timothy Chan (copywriter) have been creative partners for 12 years. They first worked together at Grey Hong Kong, then at Freeway Communications and later returned to Grey. They joined JWT Hong Kong in 2008 working on HSBC, Pizza Hut, Nikon and Cheung Kong Properties.

Their work for Prime Credit, Osim therapeutic furniture and Siemens have won awards at local and international award shows including LongXi, Kam Fan, AdFest, One Show and the New York Festivals.

"The decision by Ming and Timothy to join DraftFCB is a major step up for the agency's creative abilities," said Lo.

In additional to Ming and Timothy, the agency hired creative director Joseph Wong, senior art director Tony Tsang and copywriter Stella Chung from O&M who are also on board this month.
