DesignSingapore Council names board members

SINGAPORE - Ken Mandel of Yahoo Southeast Asia and Theseus Chan of local creative hotshop Work are among five new industry leaders to join the DesignSingapore Council's new board.

The board will guide the council’s initiatives to boost the Lion City’s design capabilities and industry. Incumbent DesignSingapore chairman, Robert Tomlin, leads the council.

The five newly-appointed members are Suresh Balan, president, Asia-Pacific, Electrolux Southeast Asia; Theseus Chan, founder/ECD of Work; Ken Mandel, VP and MD of Yahoo SEA; Tina Tan Leo, founder and president of The Link Group and alldressedup; and Ted Tan, deputy chief executive of SPRING Singapore.

Other board members who have been reappointed for another term include Richard Hassell, partner of WOHA Architects, Low Cheaw Hwei, senior design director at Philips Electronic Singapore, and Dr Milton Tan, director, DesignSingapore/Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts.

In September, DDB was appointed marketing communications partner for this year's Singapore Design Festival.
