Over 20 years in the industry, Mui has not only gained a wealth of experience across many industries, including, automotive, banking and finance, but also built a strong reputation for setting up creative departments that have gone on to produce award-winning work honored by Cannes, Spikes Asia, Effie Awards, D&AD, One Show, London International Awards and New York Festivals.

Mui replaces David Lin, former ECD and GM of DDB Guoan Beijing, who resigned from the agency last March after working there for almost four years. Lin is now a self-employed brand strategy and creative consultant.

Meanwhile, Chong has more than 19 years in advertising and design, including 13 years in China. Prior to joining DDB, he was ECD at Saatchi & Saatchi/TeamOne Asia and creative director at McCann Erickson Shanghai. He also worked at Grey Shanghai and Beijing, BBDO Beijing, DY&R, and Bates Malaysia.

Chong has worked across a broad spectrum of clients including Coca-Cola, Haagen Dazs, Nokia, Sony, Lexus China, Siemens Home Appliances, Volkswagen, Toyota, Rover Asia, Chivas Regal, Nippon Paint, ExxonMobil, and HSBC.

He won a Bronze Media Lion at Cannes in 2011. In addition, he has received numerous international advertising awards including US Art Directors Club, One Show, and New York Festival.

Chong replaces Victor Ng who was appointed as executive creative director for DDB Shanghai a year ago. The agency reported that he has moved back to his home city of Singapore for personal reasons.

“Stephen and Yew Fei are inspirational," said Michael Dee, chief creative officer of DDB China Group. "We are fortunate to come across these talented creatives who have a combination of strong local experience and international flair.”
