The move follows the recent departure of Gonzales, deputy executive creative director Russell Molina and five other members of the creative department to establish an independent agency.

In his new role, Reyes will work alongside key clients such as Smart Telecommunications and PepsiCo.

Prior to his appointment, Reyes served as executive creative director of Black Pencil Manila. He has spent the bulk of his 17-year career within Leo Burnett, having worked across brands such as McDonald’s, Smart and Sun Cellular.

He will report to the agency’s president and chief executive, Gil Chua, who said that he believed Reye’s award-winning talent would be “a great asset” to DDB Philippines.
