Espley began her new job on 1 August. Her previous post was director of Open Door Ventures, an independent marketing consultancy, since January 2002

Hailing from London, Espley was previously Y&R’s European planning director for Kraft Jacobs Suchard and Danone.

Simone Tam, president of DDB Group Hong Kong and Guangzhou, said the agency "always had a strong planning culture, which is instrumental for success", and Espley’s "proven track record places her in good stead to take DDB Group’s strategic leadership to new heights”.

She will be planning for clients such as Wrigley’s, Manulife and Financial Times, supported by a planning team of eight already in place in the two cities.
