Chan’s replacement will be Andy Au, the group creative director from Saatchi & Saatchi Guangzhou, who will come on board officially by mid-September, having finished his employment service with Saatchi.

Chan is a well-known creative talent in Hong Kong's ad industry. Former group marketing director of Wellcome Diane Chiu commented that Chan is a "seasoned creative director" who is well-suited to the retail business. "I had a very enjoyful working relationship with him,” she said.

McCann Hong Kong’s Wellcome team has crafted a number of award-winning campaigns for the supermarket gaint, including taking home the broadcast Kam Fan for its ‘Father and daughter’ campaign in 2008.

Chan also won the 'Best dressed ad man' award at last year's Kam Fan award.

Wellcome launched a heart-warming ad campaign 'Wellcome home' last March, celebrating the joy of spending time with family, and emphasising the sentiment that 'there's no place like home'.
