DFC confirmed Chiu’s resignation and is still looking for her successor.

Chiu worked for the DFC for 12 years, and was most recently marketing director of its Wellcome Supermarket. She was also in charge of marketing for the group’s two new supermarkets, Market Place by Jason and the organic food retailer ThreeSixty, and Oliver’s The Delicatessen.

Chiu joined Dairy Farm as customer relations manager in 1996 and was promoted to the marketing director role in 2006.

At McDonald's Hong Kong, Chiu succeeds Randy Lai, who was internally promoted and relocated to Singapore as managing director in September.

Reported in October, Frank Lin, senior media director of McDonald's China, joined Shanghai startup Starnet as chief operation officer.
