Shen, who was most recently heading his own boutique agency Ad Manner, was previously with DDB Taiwan between 2003 and 2005. He has also had a stint at Ogilvy & Mather and D’arcy in late 90s.

Soetanto said: “Shen’s experience of setting up his own agency in the past three years, his awareness that everything you do has to be business-oriented and his experience in cost management will be a valuable asset to us.”

On his return to the agency, Shen said: “The business environment is more challenging than ever. I am looking forward to coming back to DDB. Its culture, the opportunity to leverage the global network resources and its focus on creative solutions, versus just advertising, is exactly the right environment that I am keen to influence and foster.”

Shen has 17 years of experience in advertising across categories including consumer electronics, FMCG, fast food and beverages among others.
