Channel V to launch local content for the Philippines

MANILA - Music television station Channel V has launched in the Philippines and will extensively feature Philippine-specific and Tagalog-language content.

Channel V to launch local content for the Philippines
The launch follows Channel V International’s partnership with Manila-based media company Makisig Network, which will produce and develop the country-specific channel.

According to the networks, V Philippines will launch by June 1 and will also include hours of footage from local VJs, bands and artists.

Preceding the launch, Makisig will incorporate Channel V International into its roster of channels distributed to Sky Cable, allowing viewers in up to 600,000 households across the Philippines to become acquainted with the channel’s subject material.

The Philippine’s launch will be the seventh market Channel V has made a specific channel for, following Australia, China, India, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
