More than a million Marco Polo Club members will receive a customised birthday present.

Cathay creates brushstroke art based on flight history

Cathay Pacific and McCann Worldgroup, working with Hong Kong-based digital artist Henry Chu and ICLP, have created The Artmap Project, which uses an algorithm to create a unique piece of artwork for Marco Polo Club members based on their flight history on Cathay Pacific and Dragon.

Customers will visit a microsite where they will be able to watch the creation of their artwork, then download it if they so desire.

Martin Lever, Executive Creative Director, McCann Cathay Pacific Central Team:

As the airline that believes in travelling well, it’s crucial that we help Cathay Pacific genuinely move their passengers in fresh and exciting ways, even when they are not travelling. The Artmap Project is one such way – a memorable celebration of journeys past, and a powerful inspiration of journeys to come.

Ad Nut would like a custom piece of artwork based on Ad Nut's travels around the woodlands gathering and burying nuts. In all likelihood, it would resemble a Jackson Pollock work.
