Cannes Design: Japan and Pakistan strike gold

CANNES - In the Design awards handed out Wednesday night, Japanese agencies won three Gold Lions and BBDO Pakistan added another two—the country's first ever Gold Lions. Meanwhile, Grey Group Singapore won the region's only Product Design Lion.

In Design, APAC agencies won 19 out of 79 awards, including five of 12 Gold Lions.

Dentsu won its two Gold LIons on work for East Japan Railways and Tokio Marine Nichido. BBDO Pakistan won Gold Lions in two sub-categories for its 'Not a bug splat' campaign. Taku Satoh Design added a third Gold for Japan with work for Issey Miyake (see details on all the APAC metal below). 

A Grand Prix in the category went to Grey London for 'Lifepaint' on behalf of Volvo UK.

In Product Design, Grey Group Singapore won one of eight Lions awarded, for its 'Life saving dot' campaign on behalf of Talwar Bindi..
