ArvinMeritor tasks Weber Shandwick to launch brand campaign in China

SHANGHAI - US automobile parts maker ArvinMeritor has chosen Weber Shandwick to launch a brand campaign in China to boost brand awareness and attract new employees for its new manufacturing facility and technical center in Nanjing.

The decision was made following a competitive pitch that involved one international and two local PR agencies.

Weber Shandwick has been working with this client on a retainer basis on and off since 2007, and was selected for the new brand campaign for its expertise in the technology and public affairs industries and strategic communications planning. 

Weber Shandwick will work with ArvinMeritor to develop an integrated communications plan and deliver media relations, event management, advertising planning and public affairs services to elevate the company’s brand profile in China.

The PR initiatives aims to attract hundreds of new employees to the centre in Nangjing, especially new university graduates, engineers and technicians from other manufacturing sectors.
 
“ArvinMeritor has an exciting campaign coming up in Nanjing from August 2010 until December 2011, and we are excited to partner with Weber Shandwick to raise our brand awareness in China,” said Linda Cummins, senior vice president at ArvinMeritor.
