Wong will be working collectively with a team of group account directors, reporting to Roy Tan, managing director of Carat.
Wong has more than 15 years’ experience in the areas of advertising, media and marketing, and her stint as head of marketing at the airline started in May 2006. She took on the position of head of ancillary income in early 2009 and held that position until her move to Carat.
Tan said: "As we work towards a more marketing consultancy-based service with our clients, it is expected of us to understand our clients better and know how we can influence the marketing function and the total business direction. Carmen brings with her a wealth of experience from her AirAsia days in this regard.”
Key categories that Wong has worked on in the past include telecoms, food, paint, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, cameras, insurance and airlines.
