The appointment follows the departure of Steffanie Lee, ex GM of ZenithOptimedia Guangzhou, who recently left the agency to join Maxus Guangzhou as MD.

Wong (pictured) is from Hong Kong and boasts with nearly 10 years' experience in media agencies across China, serving clients in Southern China, Beijing and Hong Kong.

Steven Chang, CEO of ZenithOptimedia Greater China, said, "We are replacing Lee's role with a more senior and experienced executive, which has reinforced our agency's major objective in China in the coming years."

"Currently the ratio of global and local clients in China is 65 to 35 per cent. We are now striving to change the balance to 50 to 50, and our south China office would be a key hub in serving local clients."

Currently TCL, Wang Lao Ji and Emirates Airlines are among the key clients managed by the Zenith Guangzhou office.

Reported in November, the agency appointed Gary Sin as its new Shanghai MD.
