BANGKOK - Public relations firm Weber Shandwick has promoted Lalana Santos (pictured), currently an executive consultant, to the post of managing director of Weber Shandwick Thailand.

Weber Shandwick hires Thailand MD
Santos will continue working across a range of platforms in sectors including corporate business, consumer, technology, healthcare and financial communications. She has previously worked in positions such as deputy editor of Thailand Tatler, public affairs director at the Australian Embassy Bangkok, aiding the launch of McCann Public Relations division and as PR director at Dusit Hotels and Resorts and JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok.

Mark Ingrouille, region director of McCann Worldgroup in Southeast Asia, said the appointment is an initiative to bolster the PR agency’s name in the market.

“Our mission is to build Weber Shandwick to become the number one PR agency in Thailand,” he said in a release. “Lalana’s promotion is not just recognition of her outstanding work; it is also a natural direction to take, putting the reins in the right leadership to take the agency forward.”
