Universal McCann names Kemp to lead comms planning

SINGAPORE - Universal McCann has appointed Simon Kemp (pictured) as communications planning director for Asia-Pacific.

Universal McCann names Kemp to lead comms planning
Kemp replaces Prashant Kumar, who was appointed CEO of Universal McCann Malaysia in July this year.

“Communications planning plays a pivotal role in the creation of successful business outcomes for our clients,” said Universal McCann Asia-Pacific president Jeff Cressall. “We have an outstanding professional in Simon to lead this discipline in the region and I am delighted he has joined us.”

Prior to joining Universal McCann, Kemp was director of consumer context planning at Starcom Mediavest Group in Southeast Asia, where he has focused on developing insight-driven brand strategies for companies including Media Prima, Singapore Tourism Board, Diageo, Bayer and Chevrolet. Prior to Starcom he was a consultant with Ascension, a boutique strategic marketing consultancy, where clients included Unilever, Sony Europe, Ernst & Young and InBev.

Kemp will start with the agency this week and will be based in Singapore.
