Tudou reformats videos for iPad

All the videos on Tudou.com, a leading video-sharing website in China, have been reformatted for iPad, according to Wang Wei, the company’s CEO.

Tudou reformats videos for iPad

Traditionally Apple's unique browser Safari does not support videos and flash files, causing a problem for millions of iPad and iPhone users. Tudou's latest technology upgrade closes the gap and makes its 40 million videos accessible in Safari. Meanwhile, Microsoft Internet Explorer users will not be affected.

Wang also reveals that his company is developing applications for iPhone and Android-supported mobile terminals.

In August, Tudou closed a US$50 million Series E funding round, including $35 million led by Singapore based Temasek Holdings and US$15 million from existing investors.
