The report also takes a look at 10 major sectors in the region, the top brands within each plus a case study. The sectors include airlines, cameras, car, chocolate, cosmetics, shampoo, spirits, sportswear, sports drink and television.

In addition, an in-depth report of 10 markets in the region complete with a breakdown of the most popular media channels, the top 20 brands and a case study has also been made available online. Countries included in the report are Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

According to Media's features editor David Blecken, following the economic downturn and an extremely challenging 12 months, the movements shown in this year's survey prove that brand equity is never guaranteed.

"Encouragingly, it also shows that recessionary times still offer ample room for growth among brands that deliver the right proposition in a compelling manner," he adds.
