Starcom US's Jonathan Hsia tapped to be China GM

SHANGHAI - Vice-president and digital director of Starcom MediaVest Group in the US, Jonathan Hsia, has been tapped to take on the role of GM of Starcom IP China following the departure of Tim Haynes (pictured) earlier this month.

Haynes departed the agency one year after he was appointed to the position to return to Australia for a one-year sabbatical with his family.

According to Hsia’s online profile, he oversees Coca-Cola clients including Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, VitaminWater and SmartWater, and has previously held positions at JWT, Google, Mullen and Carat.

A spokesman for Starcom could not confirm when Hsia’s appointment in China will be effective.
