The work involves a set of design guidelines for product communications in key markets around the world.

Michael Lee, chief operating officer and president of Saatchi & Saatchi Greater China confirmed the win to Campaign Asia-Pacific yesterday. The pitch, which took place a month ago in China, also involved Y&R. Y&R has not responded to a request for comment.

Carol Lam, chief creative officer and MD of South China, and Alexis Chiu, the agency’s Hong Kong client service director, led the pitch.

Saatchi & Saatchi will kick off work immediately.

Lee added that the pitch was a follow-up to Huawei "Make it possible" launch at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in late Feburary. At the launch, the agency was responsible for producing a three-minute brand film. “We got very positive feedback from client and industry,” Lee said.

Saatchi & Saatchi South China is Huawei’s digital AOR and has been doing various creative campaigns for Huawei products.

Update, 3:30 pm: This article originally stated that Ogilvy also pitched for the business, but an Ogilvy spokesperson has made contact to say the agency did not pitch.
