Yan (pictured) will be based in Shanghai and wil be responsible for tactical planning services and trading tool development. He will report to Lisa Wei, chief investment officer, Aegis Media China.

The agency said Yan’s immediate challenge will be handling the fast-growing media inflation to create value for clients' media investments, as the investment team is responsible for providing the best efficiency and effectiveness.

Yan was previously head of tactical planning  for TV in GroupM Trading Shanghai and then as the head of Nanjing office.

Armed with extensive industry knowledge and expertise, particularly in tactical planning and implementation, Yan brings to Aegis Media China more than 10 years of media and 4A agency experience with Leo Burnett, TBWA, Mindshare, Universal McCann and GroupM.

“Yan’s innovative approach and constructive solutions will add to the inspiration for the team to deliver incredible results," Wei said. "I believe strongly that together this team will continue to deliver better quality service and help clients to better cope with the rapidly changing media environment.”

Earlier this year, Aegis Media appointed Raymond Lei as deputy general manager of buying in Southern China and Meg Chen as executive vice president of digital investment management.
