PHD appoints Roland Nihlmar as national managing partner

BEIJING - PHD China announced the appointment of Roland Nihlmar as national managing partner, who came on board in its Beijing office in mid-July.

In his key leadership role, Nihlmar (pictured) and will report to the agency’s CEO Mark Heap.

He will be responsible for building senior client relationships, and developing the skill sets of the existing 70-strong Beijing team, which holds the key accounts of HP and Siemens. Nihlmar is also charged with driving the agency's strategic product offering and giving input across both the Shanghai and Beijing offices.

Nihlmar is an 18-year media and advertising veteran in Asia and Europe. Before moving to China from Sweden, he was head of marketing at 118100 Ahhaaa AB, one of Sweden’s largest advertising and communications services provider, for three years.

Roland’s previous roles include managing director and regional business  development director role at Initiative Media Malaysia for two years, and he also spent five years as business development director and director of client services at Initiative Universal Media and MEC, respectively.

“China is strategically important to the PHD brand and our success is clearly determined by the strength of our people," Cheuk Chiang, CEO, PHD, Asia Pacific commented. "Hiring someone of Roland’s caliber underlines our belief in having great talent to drive growth.”

Reported this month, Espirt has extended media partnership with PHD Hong Kong and China.
