OMD China adds Balabala to client portfolio

SHANGHAI - OMD China has won the bulk of the US$20 million media account for home-grown children's clothing brand Balabala, sharing it with NIM Advertising.

OMD China adds Balabala to client portfolio

The scope of work for OMD China will be planning and buying across traditional media, while NIM will look after digital media planning and buying — a smaller portion of the account.

Hu Kun, marketing manager of Zhejiang Semir Garment Company which owns the Balabala brand, said OMD's strengths were evident in the media pitch against Carat.

Carat is still responsible for media duties for Semir's adult apparel brand line. NIM cooperated with OMD in a joint pitch for the Balabala account.

Balabala's contract with OMD China is effective immediately. It is seen to be the largest local clothing brand in the Chinese market for children under 16 years.
