NSEC, OpenRice.com celebrate arrival of 10 millionth Norwegian Salmon in China

Starting this week, NSEC is launching a month-long campaign on OpenRice.com. Titled ‘Norwegian Salmon - Discover the delicacy, witness the miracle’, the campaign calls on the public to find trails of Norwegian Salmon in restaurants in Hong Kong.

The event is led by Ketchum Hong Kong.

Open Rice has set up a section devoted to the celebration, where visitors can learn about the history, benefits and recipes. The site also highlights salmon promotions at restaurants in addition to an online competition.

Fans of the fish can vote for their favourite salmon dish and upload their own photos of salmon servings at restaurants.

According to NSEC, the first Norwegian Salmon entered Hong Kong 30 years ago. A total of 23,000 tons of Norwegian Salmon has since been imported to Kong Kong according to data in 2009, valued up to HK$1 billion (US$129 million).
