Nike names Ong to head Southeast Asia marketing

BEIJING - Sharon Ong, currently in charge of Nike's 'BJ08' marketing project, has been named as marketing director for Nike Southeast Asia.

Nike names Ong to head Southeast Asia marketing
Ong will succeed Tim Parkinson, who relocated to the UK earlier this year to become chief marketing officer for Nike subsidiary Umbro.

Ong, who is general manager of the BJ08 team in Beijing, begins her new role on 1 September, according to a Nike China spokesperson who declined to provide further details. Previously, she was marketing manager for Nike Malaysia.

The development comes as Nike ramps up its ambush marketing activities for the Beijing Olympics.
