JCDecaux Transport won the tender in May, replacing the incumbent agency DMG. The brand new AEX Motion will commence service on 1 July.

The company said that the launch of AEX Motion would help in diversifying and strengthening the existing Airport Express advertising platform by providing advertisers who are targeting well-heeled international and leisure travellers with another "effective and quality" TV channel for brand campaigns and sales promotions.

Amy Chan, MD for JCDecaux Transport, said the AEX Motion further extends advertisers’ reach to their target audience inside the Airport Express trains.

“We have upgraded the programme content of AEX Motion to provide an enlightening experience, ensuring the passengers receive a wide array of news and entertainment, and thereby unleashing to advertisers what the AEX Motion truly promises.”

JCDecaux will work with a number of content provider partners, including Wall Street Journal, to enhance the quality of content on the in-train TV channel. Passengers will enjoy leisure, sports, local and international news, weather and airport information.

Stella Kwan, senior manager – media and business development of MTR Corporation, commented, “We are pleased to appoint JCDecaux Transport to provide news and entertainment to our passengers through the in-train’s  LCD TVs, which are designed to add fun to passenger journeys.”

There are 308 LCD TVs among the Airport Express train fleet.

The new partnership further strengthens the business coverage of JCDecaux Transport at the Airport Express since its management of the advertising concession began in 1998.
