Asmita Dubey, former head of Mindshare Beijing, has assumed the position of managing director for the L'Oreal business, which the agency scooped in October from Optimedia following a long-pending pitch.

In her new role, Dubey will be based out of the agency's China headquarters in Shanghai. She has been with Mindshare for the last five years and also used to work in India and the Middle East.

Also joining the L'Oreal team is Daniel Koh as general manager. Koh brings with him over 14 years of experience in media and advertising, of which half were spent in China. Koh, who reports directly to Dubey, joins the agency from Starcom MediaVest Group where he was general manager of XPanse China.

In addition, Pete Wong, former general manager of Dell.com, has been appointed head of digital for Mindshare China. Wong has rich experience in e-commerce, online marketing, social media and mobile.

"In view of the recent L'Oreal and Yili business wins, our business is growing very quickly. Therefore identifying, positioning and hiring a good management team is imperative for Mindshare China," said Melvyn Goh, president of Mindshare China.

Goh added that this is just the first phase of its expansion plans. "Good talent are the building blocks that make our business but they are not always easy to come by so we are always on the lookout for passionate and talented specialists to join the Mindshare China family."
