Mercedes-Benz launched the kindergarten in partnership with the China Conservation and Research Center after the pandas' habitat was destroyed during the 2008 Sichuan earthquake.

The establishment, which houses nearly 20 pandas today, champions the preservation and scientific protection of the Great Panda through targeted efforts involving breeding, reproduction and research into their eventual survival in the wild.

The Mercedes-Benz Kindergarten also strives to raise social awareness and increase efforts in research and conservation of the animals among the general public.

The automaker has released the following five tips alongside the China Conservation and Research Centre to empower individuals to make a difference in the future survival of the species.

Panda Conservation Center. Plan a visit to the Panda Conservation Center to learn more about panda breeding, reproduction, rescue, scientific research and tourism. Have the unique opportunity to meet the pandas up close at the Baixiongping, Panda Kindergarten and Overseas-born Panda Paradise.

Adopt a panda. Even if you are unable to visit them up close, you can also make a direct impact on their lives by adopting a panda for a year or for a lifetime, the funds of which will go towards management, feeding and medical care for the giant panda; research projects; and administrative costs

Nurture the love for nature. Simply sharing your love of the panda across social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, will help to generate awareness and spread the word about panda conservation. Those who are very passionate can also create a panda fundraising page, or send an e-card to friends.

Donate to support the panda. Pandas have vigorous appetites and eat as much as 38 kg of bamboo each day. Consider a monetary donation to plant bamboo and support panda research and conservation efforts to sustain the lives of pandas. There are many worthwhile organisations that support these efforts.

Act. Volunteer at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda and experience what goes on behind panda conservation and management.

The kindergarten forms part of Mercedes-Benz's Green Legacy Program with UNESCO in support of World Heritage Sites in China.
