MediaCorp names MD for Singapore Media Academy

SINGAPORE - MediaCorp has appointed Ong Lay Hong as the managing director of the Singapore Media Academy (SMA), effective 1 January next year.

Currently, she is also the managing director of Suria, Vasantham and EagleVision.

With media experience of 30 years, Ong joined the then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation as a producer, and honed her skills in the production of current affairs and news on television.

Leo Goh, the current managing director of SMA, will move back to MediaCorp to assume a role in human resources.

MediaCorp has seen several appointments this year. In the middle of the year, it named Shaun Seow as its new chief executive officer and board director to replace Lucas Chow, who resigned from the position in January.

In August, it appointed Thomas Ng, Pari Sara Shirazi, Chan Heng Kee and Ahmad Nizam as its board of directors, with immediate effect.

Senior vice president of marketing and group sales planning Edwin Koh, meanwhile, left MediaCorp in October.
