MediaCorp launches news alerts service on M1

SINGAPORE - MediaCorp has launched its MMS and SMS news alerts service with M1, broadening the distribution its mobile offering.

M1 customers can now opt for daily news alerts either in MMS or SMS format as a subscription service.

One MMS will be sent to a subscriber’s mobile phone daily containing local, regional and world news plus Asian entertainment news. For SMS news alerts, there are two categories including Asia-Pacific and sports news.

P Subramaniam, chief marketing officer of M1, said: “The bite-size news format and timeliness of SMS News will appeal to many of our customers who want the latest news on the go. Those who enjoy vivid news images for greater impact will also be catered for with MMS News.”

MediaCorp had launched a similar service with SingTel in August.
