Based in Singapore, Yap will lead the design and implementation of business intelligence solutions that harness the power of Mediabrands’ investment in data and data warehouse platforms such as Mediabrands Marketing Intelligence Platform (MIP).

With MIP at the very core, Mediabrands business intelligence solutions enable our clients to make more informed fact-based decision-making and conduct ad-hoc analysis, which in turn helps to drive insight generation.

Yap will draw on her industry-specific business intelligence and database skills to consult, design and deliver solutions for Mediabrands clients that fulfill their analytical and reporting requirements.  In addition, she will work to streamline data flow as well as improve data quality and accuracy for our clients.

She joins Mediabrands from GroupM Asia-Pacific. As business analyst, Global IT, Yap helped implement the company’s digital campaign management tool.  She was also closely involved in converting in-house reporting to business objects XI R3, and setting up GroupM’s global data warehouse system.

Prior to GroupM, Yap was senior consultant at Accel Solutions, where she managed a team of analysts that gathered user requirements and designed report specifications for clients. Early in her career, Julie worked for MTV Asia as a business systems executive and at Maxtor Peripherals as a software engineer.

“I am particularly excited about Julie’s appointment in this role as it is a key part of the marketing intelligence puzzle we are trying to solve for our clients. Julie comes with the essential combination of industry specific and technical skills. This will bolster our ability design and implement technology solutions that ultimately deliver value to our clients,” said Dene Schonknecht, CIO for Asia-Pacific at Mediabrands.

“Her role further demonstrates Mediabrands strong focus on technology as a differentiator in our highly competitive marketplace.”
