Malaysia Airlines hosted Yuna's live streaming album launch on its YouTube channel

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia Airlines hosted a live album launch for local songbird, Yuna, on its official YouTube channel.

Malaysia Airlines hosted Yuna's live streaming album launch on its YouTube channel

Malaysian singer and songwriter, Yuna, became the nation's first artiste to launch an album globally via a live stream on YouTube. At the album launch yesterday, the singer interacted with fans from 4pm to 6pm Malaysian time, from Kuala Lumpur. She will also be staging a live performance of songs from her new album for all those tuning in.

Fans could take part via a Twitter competition, where Yuna announced questions during the live feed. The first ten fans to tweet back the correct answers @MAS and include #MHmoments were to receive a copy of the album.

Malaysia Airlines and Rally, the social media arm of IPG Mediabrands Malaysia, played a major role in conceving and executing the launch. The campaign helped to position the airline as an enabler to bring its customers closer to "living their dreams".

Derek Tan, executive director for social media of World Markets, Asia at IPG Mediabrands, said Malaysia Airlines is backing big events to help the brand move to engage with younger-generation consumers.

This initiative is an extension of Yuna’s commitment as the social media ambassador of Malaysia Airlines.

The "Listening Party" live-streaming video yesterday received more than 2,500 views on YouTube, with fans mainly from Malaysia. It has more 1,400 comments, where fans showed their support to Yuna.
