KFC Australia is bringing back the iconic Colonel Sanders for the first time in ten years to celebrate the cricket season in Australia.

KFC is the ongoing sponsor for Australian cricket.

The fast food brand's latest campaign is titled the ‘Colonel Chronicles’ and includes television, radio, online, on-ground and in-store promotions. The agency behind the campaign, Ogilvy Sydney, identified the target audience as 18 to 29 year-old males.

The series sees the Colonel partnering with cricketing legends David Boon and Doug Bollinger as he awkwardly yet lovingly slots himself back into Australians' lives.

“The Colonel is a true modern legend, and he has strong heritage in our brand.  We’re looking forward to introducing him to a new generation, while reigniting his appeal among those who remember him as a fun, loveable character that represents all that is KFC,” said Rachel Ellerm, marketing director at KFC.
