Jim Hytner, former CEO for the Mediabrands G14 region, takes on the role of global chief operating officer this September—based in London and reporting into CEO Henry Tajer. Hytner has been with the group for more than five years, holding several leadership roles across UM, Initiative, and most recently Mediabrands.

“We have an ambitious plan to strengthen our business globally, and we are embracing a period of positive change,” said Tajer. “Talent is central to my vision for IPG Mediabrands, so I am delighted to be able to appoint the very best people from within the company, as well as bring in proven top class talent from the wider industry.”

The agency has also hired Mindshare’s Dervilla Kelly to the newly created role of global chief client officer. New York-based Kelly will drive best-in-class account management practices and processes globally while strengthening and growing key client relationships.

Tajer also announced Genevieve Loriant's elevation from head of PR and communications for G14 markets to global chief communications officer. Loriant will relocate from London to New York.

These key hires and promotions follow a number of other senior staff announcements. Earlier this month, Danny Bass was appointed chief executive officer of IPG Mediabrands Australia and Jeff Lupinacci re-joined the company as chief financial officer.
