JWT Shanghai appoints Johan Wong as director of digital strategy

SHANGHAI - Johan Wong (pictured), former chief digital officer for Leo Burnett/ Arc Hong Kong, has joined JWT Shanghai as director of digital strategy for JWT Interactive.

Partnering with senior creative director Fei Wei, Wong will be responsible for strengthening the agency's digital offering in reporting to Eric Lee, JWT Shanghai general manager, and Donald Chan, China CEO.

"Johan brings a unique combination of skills - account management, digital strategy and creative - to digital media planning and measurement. We believe he will raise JWT Interactive to a new level of success," said Chan.

Prior to Leo Burnett, Wong worked at start-up media and interactive agency In-Game Media in Shanghai. His work for clients such as Adidas, Hutchison 3, Puma, Dell Alienware, Yahoo and PCCW have won him both industry awards and a reputation as a digital veteran.

JWT interactive has also appointed Gavin Hu as senior account drector for digital solutions. Hu has experience in both above-the-line and digital account management at JWT and other digital outlets such as Sina.

Founded in 2006, JWT Interactive is the digital arm under JWT Shanghai, working with clients including KFC, Pizza Hut, HSBC and Air New Zealand.
