GroupM's Robbie Hills resurfaces at RockYou

SINGAPORE - GroupM's former regional head of search, Robbie Hills (pictured), has resurfaced at social media content distributor RockYou, where he has been appointed general manager of Asia-Pacific.

GroupM's Robbie Hills resurfaces at RockYou
Hills resigned from his GroupM role in January after nearly two years in the position.

GroupM sources at the time said the media network would not replace Hills and regional managing director of GroupM Search, Rosemary Lising, would assume some of his duties.

At RockYou, Hills will continue to be based in Singapore and oversee operations across the region in markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, India and Malaysia. He will specifically help grow the company by linking with advertisers and brands to develop application-based social networking initiatives such as applications, advertisements and fans pages.

According to a company spokeswoman, Hills' appointment is effective immediately and also the first international executive appointment California-based RockYou has made.

According to the company, RockYou has more than 48 million monthly unique visitors in Asia-Pacific, as well as 194 million monthly unique visitors globally and 13 billion page impressions a month. It has created applications including Zoo World, Birthday Cards, and Hero World on social networks including Facebook, MySpace, hi5 and Bebo.

Last month, RockYou appointed Aktiv Digital as its exclusive media sales partner in Hong Kong.
