Toshiba launches first-ever glasses-free laptop

Toshiba Qosmio F750 is the world’s first glasses-free laptop

The LG Optimus 3D went on sale today as the world’s first glasses-free 3D mobile. Now Toshiba has announced another world first in the form of the Qosmio F750 3D glasses-free laptop. Even as a normal Core i7-toting lappie, you'd notice its imposing 15.6in screen and 2.8kg bulk. The Tosh flagship is not without power – it packs a hefty 6GB RAM and a Blu-ray XL drive that let’s you write up to 100GB on a single disc. Now to the important part – 3D – coming in the form of 2D to 3D upscaling on DVDs as well as full 3D video playback. It works using a camera that tracks your face to deliver images at the best angle with clearest depth. Initial murmours don’t sound too promising on how good it actually looks but stay tuned for our full review soon.

As well as being able to video call in chat, Facebook also announced Group Chats and a sidebar that lists the friends you message most. Now it makes sense why Microsoft recently paid billions to buy Skype.

Rumour Mill – Sony PlayStation 4 to get Kinect-style controls

After the PlayStation Network hack and now Apple and Fox News being hacked, it’s all starting to get more mundane and the fear associated with picking up a PS3 controller grows weaker. If grabbing a Sony controller is still too much for you, the PS4 has you covered with manufacturers leaking plans for a body-motion Kinect-style controller. The console, which will compete with the Nintendo Wii U, will go into production at the end of 2011 for a 2012 release of 20 million PS4 consoles. Although we're taking that date with a pinch of salt bearing in mind Japan's recent natural disaster.
