FOX launches re-branded FX entertainment channel in Asia

HONG KONG - FOX International Channels is to introduce its FX entertainment channel to Asia in collaboration with cable operator Now TV.

FOX launches re-branded FX entertainment channel in Asia
The regional debut coincides with a global re-branding initiative that sees the letter ‘X’ in the logo expanded to symbolise an extended and potentially more controversial range of content.

The channel will feature a combination of comedy and drama programmes that have yet to be screened in Asia Pacific, including Family Guy, Mad Men, Californication, The Riches, Saving Grace and Peep Show.

FOX International Channels Asia’s senior vice president of marketing, Sonia Jackson, explained that while FX had previously operated as a non-contentious, male-oriented entertainment channel, it would now feature bolder themes in its programming to cater to a demand from viewers for more stimulating content.

Subscribers will also have access to the accompanying online destination, fxtvasia.com, for what Jackson described as an “integrated brand experience”.
