Former Y&R China MD Henry Chan joins Landor as GC president

HONG KONG - Landor Associates, a brand consulting and design firm, has appointed Henry Chan as president, Greater China.

Chan (pictured) will be based in Hong Kong but move back to Shanghai in Autumn in order to build up the office in this key location in order to ensure Landor has a presence in each of the important cities across the region.

With more than 20 years’ experience in business management and marketing communications, Chan was previously China managing director for Y&R, where he worked with clients like Danone, Dell, Hitachi, LG, and Starbucks, and helped win the Gap account in China in April 2010. He resigned from Y&R last October and returned to Hong Kong for family reasons.

Prior to Y&R, Chan held senior roles at OgilvyAction, Global Beauty International Limited, Bates/141 Asia, DDB Needham and Hasbro Toys.

Meanwhile Ray Ally, ex-executive director of Landor Associates in Beijing, resigned last March after being with Landor Hong Kong and Beijing for over seven years.

Founded by Walter Landor in 1941, the agency  opened Landor’s Hong Kong office in 1986. With 21 offices in 16 countries and a client portfolio  Astra International, Bank Danamon, BP, FedEx, GE, Hong Kong Telecom, Jet Airways, Microsoft, Netscape, PepsiCo, Proton, Singapore Airlines, and Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces.
