Ex-CEO of Mediabrands China resurfaces at Simei Media

HANGZHOU / SHANGHAI - Simei Media (思美传媒) has named as its new CEO Cary Huang (黄浩挺), previously of IPG Mediabrands since June 2011.

Prior to Simei Media, Huang served as CEO of UM China as well as Mediabrands China in different stints. His successor was Tom Wan, whose move was reported in December.

In his new role, Huang will assist in the locally listed agency's corporate development strategy and operational planning, and report directly to the chairman Zhu Mingqiu (朱明虬).

Simei's ex-CEO was Cheng Xiaowen (程晓文), who has retired to Canada.

Huang graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University and Fudan University, and has more than 20 years of experience in the planning and management functions at Ogilvy & Mather, Maxus, Mindshare, MediaCom, as well as IPG Mediabrands.
