Essence today announced the launch of Essence Global Ventures, the agency’s first innovation and research hub in Asia-Pacific.

Based in Singapore, EGV will seek to develop marketing technology products that make use of tools such as predictive data analysis and automation to drive better business performance. The products will be used across Essence’s global network, and an executive council of senior Essence leaders will oversee EGV.

EGV will also be responsible for talent development, helping train employees in new digital skills including data science, advanced analytics, user experience design and creative technology.

Singapore’s Economic Development Board is supporting EGV, which will also seek to help enhance Singapore’s position a global leader in technology, business and innovation.

“Our partnership with EDB will help to advance our product development agenda in some of the areas of highest demand in the marketing services world,” said Andrew Shebbeare, co-founder and chairman of Essence.

Dawn Lim, deputy director, commercial and professional services at EDB, said, “The hub will create exciting job opportunities and develop Singapore’s capability in high-growth areas such as data science and user experience, which are key innovation drivers today for the marketing and advertising sector.”
