ESPN expands digital

ASIA-PACIFIC - ESPN is expanding its digital offering for the new year by introducing multimedia products to its ESPN Star home page with a focus on the upcoming Australian Open and Formula One season.

ESPN expands digital
The products will debut in January with the beginning of the Australian Open. The revamped website will include exclusive content such as a daily newsletter update with news, results and a photo gallery, plus match analysis on ESPN’s video player and an online predictor where audiences can guess results.

In March, ESPN will further update it site with the beginning of the F1 season to feature a race centre with lap-by-lap updates, video streaming, an F1 Fantasy game and SMS mobile alerts.

According to ESPN, the product launches have been developed to draw online advertisers to its ESPN Star domain, which relaunched in June. Advertising opportunities will include rich media and in-stream video advertising capabilities.
