Edipresse Asia takes Gretchen Smelter and Alison Pang on board

HONG KONG - Edipresse Asia has appointed Gretchen Smelter as group creative director and Alison Pang as international sales director.

Smelter joined Edipresse from Conde Nast in New York, where she was creative director for Brides Magazine since 2004.

Under her direction, Brides won several awards from the Society of Publication Designers, including one for best redesign.

Smelter has also been a contributing illustrator for the op-ed pages of the New York Times and Wired magazine. During her 11 years in New York, she also worked for Martha Stewart Living, Smart Money, Real Simple and took charge of the redesign of Scientific American.

Meanwhile Pang joined Edipresse from Financial Times, and has over 10 years of sales and marketing experience in the publishing industry in Greater China, including international publishing companies like Dow Jones and Thomson Reuters.

Gretchen brings enormous strength and experience to our design team, and will be a major force in the development of our existing and future titles, while Alison will add focus to our highly successful sales team."
