ASIA-PACIFIC - Young generations of Vietnamese and open-minded international talent are the driving force behind Vietnam’s creative advancement. Campaign Asia talked to seasoned creative talent on both the agency and film production side, who share a vision for its future.

Creativity in Vietnam: How far has it come?

Vanessa Hurst, executive producer at Lowe & Partners Vietnam started her advertising career in New York. Before that she almost became a doctor. And even before that, she frequently travelled to Asia with her architect father, developing a connection with the region from a young age.

Hurst brings a fluid creative process to her work through open collaboration. In this video she discusses Vietnamese creative and her insight for the region.

Phan Viet Quoc Huy and Chi-Minh de Leo, co-founded Clubhouse Films three years ago in Ho Chi Minh City when they saw the creative market in Vietnam maturing and the chance to bring their own approach to producing films and TVCs to the market.

Culturally aware, the two are behind the production of some of Vietnam’s leading TVCs and video-based marketing. The company also works with production partners including Photoplay, Curious, DLP Paris, and Delapost Films.

In this video, Huy and Chi-Minh explain Vietnamese ads (including why Huy, a 34-year-old grown man, was slapped by his mother for getting a tattoo recently) and the evolution of the Vietnamese creative identity.
