The account covers brand and tactical communications, as well as the management of Changi Airport Group’s digital presence across its websites and social media platforms.

JWT will now work to create campaigns for the Changi brand across all parts of the business, including commercial, retail and airhub services.

Changi’s target market includes business and leisure travellers, as well as tourism partners and airlines.

The pitch was called in October and is understood to have involved around a dozen agencies.

JWT’s appointment comes alongside Waggener Edstrom Worldwide's appointment in August as Changi Airport Group’s agency of record to support its digital communications strategy. Waggener Edstrom's brief covers social media engagements, including blogger outreach.

Ivan Tan, senior vice-president, corporate and marketing communications at Changi Airport Group, said JWT is a “great fit” and it will seek to build a strong partnership with the agency.

Frank Bauer, JWT Singapore’s newly appointed CEO, said the agency would work to take the “true Singaporean flagship brand” to the next level.

“This win is both a testament to the strength of our Singapore agency, and reflects that JWT’s new leadership team fully embraces the importance of idea-centricism and collaboration as the foundation of our management ethos,” said JWT APAC CEO Tom Doctoroff.
