The two channels are Celestial Movies HD (CM HD) and KIX HD, on the ASTRO B.yond HD platform via Channel 309 and Channel 729, respectively. It also marks Malaysia as the first market in the region to carry CM HD, and the second market for KIX HD after the channel’s Singapore launch in November last year.

Todd Miller, president and COO of Celestial Tiger Entertainment, noted that CM HD marks its first HD movie channel and it looks forward to extending the channel to more markets in the region.

“KIX HD marks the first time the channel and many of its programmes have been seen in Malaysia. We are confident that the channel's mix of action and thrills in high definition will appeal to Malaysian viewers of all ethnicities.”

CM HD offers subscribers first run and exclusive Chinese and Asian blockbusters in high-definition quality and widescreen format. Its March and April highlights include the award-winning 2011 blockbuster Overheard 2, starring Louis Koo and Daniel Wu.

KIX HD, meanwhile, features five distinct programming pillars, namely fight events, action series, action reality, action movies and a late-night block of thriller movies. The subscribers can look forward to exclusive mixed martial arts (MMA) tournaments and other fight competitions, action-packed genre films from Asia and Hollywood and action-themed reality shows and scripted television series.

Henry Tan, COO at Astro, said, “We are extremely pleased to welcome both KIX HD and Celestial Movies HD on the ASTRO B.yond HD platform. I am confident both channels will provide a variety of outstanding Asian and international HD content for our customers.”
