Carat leads Recma Compitches 2011 Greater China rankings

The network is followed by OMD and IPG Mediabrands' UM in second and third place, respectively.

Recma's Compitches reports aims to rank media agencies based on their level of competitiveness in pitches in 2011 and over the past three years. The report ranks pitches worth over US$2 million and identifies key pitches as worth over US$25 million.

The report is based on a weighted country-by-country ranking and key international pitches are reported as "other pitches" if the involvement of local agencies are low.

In Asia-Pacific, China receives a weighting of six; Australia and India are each weighted three, while Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Taiwan each weighted one.

For the overall Asia-Pacific rankings, Omnicom's OMD tops the list, followed by Carat and GroupM's Maxus.

In Southeast Asia, Maxus and Mediacom are tied for top spot followed by OMD.

Initiative, OMD and Zenith Optimedia jointly hold the top three spots for India and in Australia, Maxus and Mediacom are tied for top place, followed by Mindshare.
